Spectral Efficiency of MC-CDMA: Linear and Non-Linear Receivers

چکیده
This paper analyzes the spectral efficiency (total channel capacity per subband) of randomly-spread synchronous multicarrier code-division multiple-access (MCCDMA) channel subject to frequency-selective fading in the asymptotic regime of number of users and bandwidth going to infinity with a constant ratio. We analyze the spectral efficiency for uplink and downlink conditioned on subcarrier frequency-selective fading. The following receivers are analyzed: a) jointly optimum receiver, b) linear MMSE receiver, c) decorrelator, and d) single-user matched filter.

LINEAR MULTIUSER RECEIVERS FOR ASYNCHRONOUS MC−CDMA SYSTEMS (ThuPmOR8)
In this paper, we propose a linear multiuser receiver for asynchronous MC−CDMA systems. The proposed receiver consists of two stages, namely a bank of MRC receivers and a MMSE multiuser detector, and it relies both on channel and delay estimation. The performance of the receiver is greatly improved with respect to the simple MRC approach. Moreover, the additional complexity is moderate, so that...
متن کاملThe impact of frequency-flat fading on the spectral efficiency of CDMA
The capacity of the randomly spread synchronous code-division multiple-access (CDMA) channel subject to frequency-flat fading is studied in the wide-band limit of large number of users. We find the spectral efficiency as a function of the number of users per chip, the distribution of the flat fading, and the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), for the optimum receiver as well as linear receivers (sing...

Iterative processing for linear matrix channels, aka turbo equalization, turbo demodulation, or turbo CDMA, has traditionally been studied as the concatenation of conventional error control codes with the linear (matrix) channel. However, in several situation, such as CDMA, the channel itself contains inherent redundancy, such as a repetition code contained in the direct-spread signature sequen...

Spectral efficiency presents the ultimate limit on the data rate per unit bandwidth of a certain communication system. For the DS-CDMA systems spectral efficiency has been derived for optimal and linear multiuser receivers in case of synchronous reception, fading and non-fading environment as well as single and multi-cell cellular networks. The most pervasive model employed in all these analyse...
